Summit North Marina, Bear DE

(Wed. July 13 - Dist: 60.0 mi; Avg Speed: 11.1 mph; TTT: 5:30 hrs)

Tucked on the north side of the C&D (Chesapeake and Delaware) canal is a large marina adjacent to State Park Land.  Of course there is nothing nearby but we decided to stop here to do laundry and take a small vacation.  The place was perfect for that except for the fact that the pool, restaurant and laundry facilities were up on a cliff that required walking up this long series of switch backs.  Ah, it was good for us (at least that is what I kept telling myself)  as we are in desperate need for exercise.  We spent two wonderful days here, swimming, drinking and eating.
The restaurant was superb especially considering that it was in the middle of nowhere.  Everything that could be home made was made from scratch.  The chips and 3 types of salsa dips that we had on our first break were excellent, so much so that we made reservations for dinner and then ate there again the next day.

The pool was refreshing so it turned out to be a good stop.
